IMPULSE PRESERVATION LDD018 + DISK 2 EXTERNALS LDDX018

5 track EP + 9 track disk2 of assorted works.

the EP, a carefully selected assemblage of unapologetic post-industrial minimalism physically performed and recorded in real time. ideas were rehearsed a time or two and captured in their prime. all programming done on physical devices and ableton used in a limited analog cassette 4-track type way. recorded in one or two passes, improvised layer over improvised layer of manipulated element into audio. drum parts played in freely, in real time or unquantized sequences. destructive edits. forward. one motion. following intention and intuition. a very physical album at heart.

the second disk takes us through an assortment of outtakes and closes with some gentler ambience, revisiting themes from disk one showcasing a first take of "halo" and a desaturated mix of "veins" and features unreleased material as well as a dawgaze gentlemix of a track from the previous SO release "333" opener "mantralust" and an alternate intro to the spacecherry EP "boarding". the ambient tracks get heavily experimental with drinking glasses being played like singing bowls and heavily muted subtleness of the complexly polyrhythmic subconscious summoning outro.

the two disks are essentially a deluxe edition without the wait of an artist's reluctance or laziness. "a clear and focused EP while shining light on many of the moments that lead me here. my primary influences for these sessions were: jk flesh, the body, emptyset, aphex twin, squarepusher."
